Dekum Street Theater is a lovingly restored silent movie theater, built in 1911, with a 30’ X 20’ sprung hardwood floor, coved ceilings, comfortable seating, optimal sightlines, and outstanding acoustics. This 100-seat, state-of-the-art theater is the ideal venue for music, dance, theater, spoken word, comedy, film, and intimate gatherings. You’re invited to arrive early or stay late to rendezvous, imbibe or have a bite in The Lobby Bar.
Family-owned and operated, Dekum Street Theater is a labor of love built on the belief that a community is vitalized and nurtured by sharing a diverse range of artistic practices. With this in mind, it’s been designed as a place to gather, celebrate, and foster that exchange. Each step of the theater’s renovation was informed by an intention to honor the building’s creative past while bringing to life our vision for a new venue and cultural space in Portland.
